Terms of Service

Welcome to Author Studio. These Terms govern your use of the website, applications, and services (together, the “Service”) operated by Suon Studio LLC, a New Jersey limited liability company (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Accounts

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. You’re responsible for keeping your password safe and for everything that happens under your account. Notify us if you suspect unauthorized access.

2. Your work, your copyright

You retain all copyright and ownership of the text, characters, plot, outlines, and other original content you create with the Service (“Your Content”). We claim no ownership of Your Content. We will never use Your Content to train AI models.

You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to host, store, transmit, back up, and display Your Content solely so we can provide the Service to you and any people you explicitly invite to collaborate.

3. AI features

The Service includes optional AI writing assistance powered by third-party AI providers. When you use these features, the relevant text you submit is sent to that provider to generate the response. Output is provided “as is” — AI can hallucinate, misquote, or produce content you don’t want. Review every suggestion before accepting it.

You agree not to use AI features to generate content that violates law, infringes copyright, depicts minors sexually, or targets real individuals with defamatory or harassing material. Repeated violations may result in account suspension.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Use the Service to commit illegal acts.
Upload malware, attempt to break our security, or probe our infrastructure.
Resell, white-label, or scrape the Service without written permission.
Impersonate another person or claim a false identity.

5. Billing

Paid plans renew monthly by default. You authorize us (through Stripe) to charge the payment method on file at the start of each billing period. You can cancel any time from the billing page; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period. We don’t offer prorated refunds for partial months unless required by law or stated in our Refund Policy.

6. AI usage caps

Each plan includes a monthly cap on AI-generated words. When you reach the cap, AI features pause until the next cycle (1st of the month, UTC) or until you upgrade. Caps are subject to change with at least 30 days’ notice; price changes never apply retroactively.

7. Termination

You may delete your account from Settings → Danger Zone at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, fail payment, or remain inactive for an extended period. On termination we will export-or-purge Your Content per our retention schedule unless law requires us to keep it longer.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We don’t guarantee uninterrupted operation, freedom from bugs, or fitness for any particular use. Back up your manuscript regularly — use the Export buttons to keep local copies.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or related to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, or (b) US $50.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms. If we make material changes we’ll notify you by email or in-app banner at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after that date constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, United States, without regard to conflict of laws principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in New Jersey, and you and Suon Studio LLC each consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
