Cancellations & refunds

Cancel any time
You can cancel your subscription at any time from Settings → Plan & billing(or via the Stripe customer portal link shown there). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you keep access to your paid features until then, and won’t be charged again.
Refund policy
Because the Service is a digital subscription, we generally don’t offer prorated refunds for partial months. However:
- 14-day money-back guarantee (new subscriptions): if it’s your first time subscribing and the Service isn’t a good fit, email us within 14 days of the initial charge and we’ll refund the full month.
- Accidental renewal: if you cancelled and were charged again because the cancellation didn’t go through, email us within 7 days and we’ll refund the renewal.
- EU/UK statutory right of withdrawal: if you’re a consumer in the EU or UK, you have 14 days from the start of a new subscription to withdraw and receive a refund. By starting to use AI features within those 14 days, you may waive this right for the portion already used — you’ll see a clear notice in the checkout flow.
- Service failure: if our service is unavailable for more than 24 consecutive hours and the outage is on our side, contact us for a prorated credit.
How to request a refund
Email support@authorstudio.app from the email on your account with the subject line “Refund request”. Include the charge date if you have it. We aim to respond within 2 business days.
What happens to my work?
Your manuscript stays in your account regardless of plan status. Cancelling drops you back to the free Starter plan — you keep access to your stories, just with the free-tier limits. Use the Export buttons (EPUB / PDF / DOCX) any time to keep local copies.
